Madelyn Carney is best known for her watercolors of expansive Provincetown skies and harbor.  For nearly fifty years Madelyn has painted subjects ranging from children’s portraits, waterfront landscapes and still life watercolors.  Madelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and has studied with many well known Provincetown painters such as Henry Hensche and Jim Forsberg.  For nearly a decade she studied portraiture in the tradition of the Boston School with Robert Cormier of Fenway Studios.  In addition to her work in the visual arts, Madelyn is the author of over thirty short stories which were recently collected into a memoir. She has divided her time between Boston and Provincetown for over forty years.  She is the mother of nine children and thirteen grandchildren.
